Discover this new weight loss solution that could help you finally shed those stubborn pounds.aspireassist

While there is a ton of advice out there about how to successfully and safely lose weight, we know that losing weight is still a challenge for a lot of people. If you aren’t getting the results you want then you may be considering other options for helping you lose weight and improving your appearance. If so, our Livonia, MI, gastroenterologists Dr. Veslav Stecevic, Dr. Mihaela Batke and Dr. Naveen Reddy are here to tell you about how AspireAssist could help.

What is AspireAssist?

This weight loss treatment has been approved by the FDA and has provided countless obese patients with a non-surgical approach to finally shed those stubborn pounds. This treatment takes a different approach to weight loss by removing around 30 percent of the food you’ve consumed during a meal once it reaches the stomach but before your body has to chance to turn the food into calories.

How does AspireAssist work?

During the procedure, a small tube is placed within the stomach. This tube runs from the stomach to a tiny button that is placed on the outside of your body (within the abdomen region). After every meal, a small device controls and opens the button, which then allows you to remove and easily discard around 30 percent of the food you’ve just eaten.

You’ll “aspire” around 20 to 30 minutes after you have finished your meal and it only takes around five minutes to complete the process. The contents from the tube can go right into the toilet and since AspireAssist only removes up to 30 percent of the food you eat your body still gets the proper nutrients it needs to stay healthy.

What is the procedure like?

Unlike surgical weight loss treatments, this procedure can be performed right here in our office in about 15 minutes and you’ll be able to go home a couple of hours after the procedure. Plus, the recovery time is much shorter than it would be for someone undergoing bariatric surgery. AspireAssist is performed under conscious sedation.

Is this weight loss treatment right for me?

If you are an adult who is overweight or obese and hasn’t been able to lose weight successfully through a healthy diet and regular exercise then it might be time to talk to one of our Livonia, MI, GI doctors about whether AspireAssist could finally give you the look you want. It’s important that you are an otherwise healthy individual who is dedicated to maintaining a healthy lifestyle after your treatment.

Are you interested in finding out whether AspireAssist could finally help you lose weight? Then it’s time you called Endoscopic Solutions in Livonia and Clarkston, MI, to schedule a consultation with us. Let us get you one step closer to the body you want.

Tags: Abdominal Pain

Abdominal pains can be caused by a variety of things, but you don't have to suffer. Drs. Naveen Reddy, Mihaela Batke, and Veslav abdominal painStecevic can help you. The Livonia and Clarkston, MI, physicians have the information you need to recover.

What is abdominal pain?

Abdominal pain is a common worldwide issue that's characterized by sharp, dull, intermittent, or constant pain in the lower chest and pelvic areas of your body.

What are the causes of abdominal pain?

The Livonia and Clarkston physicians specialize in understanding the causes of abdominal pain, which are numerous, but may be a result of infections or inflammation.

Depending on the location of pain, your medical providers determine the cause.

How do doctors identify your abdominal problems?

Doctors find out what's wrong based on the type of pain described and where it is located. The abdomen is divided into four parts, or quadrants:

  • Upper right quadrant: Pain in this area may be associated with liver or gallbladder problems.
  • Upper left quadrant: This area consists of the stomach, spleen and the pancreas.
  • Lower quadrants: Pain in this areas is usually due to gynecological problems, appendicitis or intestinal issues.

When your doctor identifies the location, they can decide whether further tests and treatments are necessary.

More on abdominal pain?

Abdominal pain isn't always serious and can be treated with medication or diet changes. Here is some more on abdominal pain:

  • Acute abdominal pain: It happens suddenly and is a result of a stomach virus or gas.
  • Ongoing or chronic, abdominal pain: This is attributed to ulcers, or irritable bowel syndrome.

Serious cases may warrant medical attention, like abdominal pain after,

  • An accident
  • During pregnancy
  • Fever present while the abdomen is tender to the touch
  • Pain lasts more than a few hours
  • Vomiting blood
  • Passing bloody or tar-like stools

Are you having trouble losing weight and keeping it off? Find out how we can help.weight loss

We know it isn’t always easy to lose weight. There are so many factors that can affect your body. While it should be as simple as eating right and exercising regularly, sometimes we find that these measures alone just aren’t enough to lose that stubborn fat. If you are feeling frustrated with your weight loss journey and want to find a safe, non-surgical way to shed that weight then our Clarkston, MI, gastroenterologists Dr. Veslav Stecevic, Dr. Mihaela Batke and Dr. Naveen Reddy might just be able to help.

What is ReShape™?

During this nonsurgical procedure, a silicone balloon containing saline is placed into the stomach for half a year to take up space within the stomach to decrease how much food you eat and to help you feel full faster during mealtimes.

How is the ReShape™ balloon placed?

Instead of making an incision into the stomach, our Clarkston, MI, GI doctors will endoscopically insert the balloon through your mouth and into the stomach (This is performed under conscious sedation and IV anesthesia to reduce discomfort and to relax you).

One of the major benefits of getting ReShape™ is that you won’t have to undergo surgery or deal with any downtime after your procedure. You can leave our office right after your treatment and the whole procedure is completed in about 20 minutes.

However, it’s important to note that this gastric balloon will not last forever. You will have to come back in 6 months later to have the balloon removed. This is necessary as the balloon may deflate over time and could cause an intestinal blockage if left over 6 months.

Am I a good candidate for ReShape™?

As with any treatment, there are certain factors that make someone an ideal candidate for treatment. Certain qualifications include a healthy individual who has a body mass index (BMI) between 30 to 40 and who hasn’t been able to successfully lose weight with traditional methods. Those who have already undergone weight loss surgery are not right for this procedure.

Endoscopic Solutions offers a full range of gastroenterological services to both the Livonia, MI, and Clarkston, MI areas. Call our office today and let us know that you are interested in finding out more about ReShape™ and how it might help you. We would be happy to schedule your consultation.

You have many options for treating and even eliminating your hemorrhoid problem.hemorrhoid treatment

Countless people deal with hemorrhoids, a condition that causes the veins around the anus to swell. You may have realized you had hemorrhoids when you noticed bright red blood on the toilet paper. It can be unnerving when this happens but hemorrhoids are harmless. However, hemorrhoids can be painful, so our Livonia, MI, gastroenterologist is here to tell you what your options are when it comes to treating this issue.

Conservative Treatment Options

In some cases, hemorrhoids will go away on their own and you won’t even need to come in for a visit. Many of the options for treating your hemorrhoids can be found in the comfort of your own home. Taking a Sitz bath for about 15 minutes can ease pain and discomfort without medication and you can do this a couple times a day, as needed.

Of course, if the pain is really getting to you there are over-the-counter creams that can at least temporarily take the pain and itching away until the problem resolves itself. We know it won’t cure hemorrhoids but being able to manage your symptoms is really important.

What you wear is also important. It might sound odd but wearing fabrics that aren’t breathable can exacerbate your condition. Opt for loose-fitted underwear with a breathable soft fabric that won’t rub or cause further irritation.

If your hemorrhoids are the result of constipation, then fiber is something you need to start incorporating into your diet. Everyone needs fiber but if you don’t get enough this can lead to a lot of GI problems, not to mention, it can lead to hemorrhoids. Up your fiber intake by incorporating more whole grains, beans and fruits and vegetables into your diet.

When to See a Doctor

There comes a time when you have to throw in the towel and admit that it’s time to visit one of our Livonia, MI, GI specialists. While most cases of hemorrhoids won’t need our care if you have been dealing with pain for more than one week, if the rectal pain you experiencing is severe, or if symptoms are getting worse then it’s time to visit us.

We offer a simple non-surgical rubber band system that will cut off blood to the hemorrhoid and kill it. It can be performed right here in our office and there is no recovery period. It’s certainly a relief to have a non-surgical option if you are dealing with persistent or serious hemorrhoids.

Do you have questions about treating your hemorrhoids? Experiencing symptoms of hemorrhoids but haven’t gotten a diagnosis yet? Then call Endoscopic Solutions in Clarkston and Livonia, MI, today.

So you're ready to take off the pounds. Endoscopic weight loss options help people lose weight without surgery or scars. Endoscopic weight lossapproaches are reversible, minimally invasive, and less expensive than surgery. Endoscopic Solutions in Clarkston, MI, offers endoscopic weight loss options to their patients. Here are three endoscopic weight loss options that you should know about.

Intragastric Balloon- The Intragastric balloon, also referred to as a weight loss balloon, is a saline-filled balloon that is temporarily placed in the patient's stomach for several months to promote healthy weight loss. The weight loss balloon takes up about one-third of the space in the patient's stomach and helps them get used to too small portion sizes. With this procedure, you can experience up to three times the weight loss of exercise and dieting alone.

Probiotics- Hundreds of microorganisms live in people’s digestive systems, producing vitamins and breaking down fiber. But the type and amount of bacteria a person has can also affect their weight. Luckily, this problem can be addressed with probiotics which introduce good bacteria into a patient’s gut by way of pills, potentially reducing the amount of calories they absorb from food and affecting the hormones and proteins linked to appetite and fat storage. Bifidobacterium lactis strain B420 is a probiotic offered by our Clarkston doctor and has been shown to reduce total body weight by 4% in six months.

AspireAssist- Aspiration therapy with the AspireAssist is an endoscopic weight loss solution that prevents excess calories from being absorbed by the patient's body, allowing them to make progressive, healthy changes to their lifestyle. With this procedure, a tube is placed in the patient's stomach that allows them to evacuate up to 30% of their meals after eating, preventing the absorption of unwanted calories into the body and resulting in weight loss.

Excess pounds increase your risk of major health problems. Individuals who are obese or overweight have a higher risk for certain diseases such as strokes, heart attacks, cancer, and diabetes. Fortunately, losing weight can reduce your risk of developing these problems. Don't wait another minute- call Endoscopic Solutions at 248-625-4055 right now to schedule a consultation in Clarkston, MI.
